Patio and bifold door grilles in South Glamorgan: what will it cost?
As a guide, patio and bifold door grilles in South Glamorgan cost £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors, supplied and fitted. The exact figure depends on size, type, finish and locking, and is confirmed in writing after the free survey.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

Getting the right patio door grille for your building
Where it parks
Bifold doors stack their own leaves to one side; the grille stack should not fight them.
Usage
If you open the doors every day, ask for a lighter-action grille with smooth runners.
What the rules say in Wales
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Wales, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Wales need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the local planning authority with Cadw's involvement where required. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.

Which towns in South Glamorgan do you cover?

How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
Do patio grilles block the view?
When open, only a slim stack at each side. When closed, the lattice is open enough to see the garden clearly.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
