1. Who you contract with
Your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, trading as Security Grilles UK, registered in England and Wales, company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. Work is carried out by installers working under our contract with you; we remain responsible for it.
2. Guide prices and quotes
Prices on this website and from the guide price tool are guides only. After a survey we give you a written quote with the grille schedule, price, payment terms and lead time. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated. Prices shown with VAT are calculated at 20%.
3. Changes and site conditions
If the survey could not reveal something that affects the work, such as a reveal that will not take fixings, we will explain the options and agree any change in price in writing before continuing.
4. Made-to-measure grilles and cancellation
Grilles are made to the measurements and specification in your quote. We do not order them until you confirm in writing that you want to go ahead, and if you change your mind before we place the order we will refund anything you have paid.
If you are a consumer and the contract is made at a distance or away from our premises, you have 14 days to cancel. You can tell us in any clear written statement or use the model cancellation form we provide with your quote. Goods made to your specifications are excluded from the right to cancel under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 once made. If you ask us to start installation work within the cancellation period and then cancel, you may have to pay for work already done.
5. Your responsibilities
Please give safe access, tell us about anything hidden in the walls where we will fix, and obtain any landlord, freeholder, planning or listed building consent that applies. We will tell you if we think consent may be needed. We will not fit a key-only grille over a window needed for escape, and grilles on exits from business premises must be managed so they never obstruct escape while people are inside.
6. Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit, are set out in your written quote.
7. Warranties and your rights
Any manufacturer's warranty on the grille is passed to you and set out in your quote. If something is not right with the grille or the fitting, tell us promptly and we will put it right as required by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
8. Liability
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law. A security grille makes entry much harder but cannot guarantee that a building will not be broken into.
9. Website content and images
Information on this website is general and may change. Images are computer-generated pictures of product types and are not photographs of our completed jobs.
10. Complaints and law
Contact us at info@security-grilles.uk with any complaint and we will respond promptly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
