How much do French door grilles cost in Forfar?

French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Fitting in Forfar and nearby
Forfar is about 12 miles from Dundee, the main centre for Dundee and Angus. We can survey and fit across the DD8 district and in nearby places such as Dundee and Arbroath.
Dundee's sandstone tenements and waterfront sit alongside Angus towns such as Arbroath, Forfar and Montrose.
Typical places for this kind of grille include:
- Ground-floor flats
- Juliet balconies on upper floors (with escape in mind)
- Period homes with timber French doors
- French doors to gardens
Things to decide before you order
Upper floors
A grille behind Juliet balcony doors needs to keep any required escape route usable.
One side or both
A centre-meeting pair lets you open one side for everyday use.
Rules that apply in Scotland
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Scotland, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Scotland need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the council, with Historic Environment Scotland consulted on some cases. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.
