What is the price of bi-folding security gates in Welshpool?
Budget £954 to £2,634 including VAT (£795 to £2,195 plus VAT) per opening for bi-folding security gates in Welshpool, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.
A bi-folding security gate is made of hinged leaves of vertical bars that fold against each other as they slide along a top track. It covers wide openings like a retractable grille but folds into fewer, flatter panels with no scissor lattice.
What goes into a bi-fold gate
- Neat folded stack for receptions and showrooms
- Black, anthracite and RAL colours
- Mesh or solid infill panels on request
- Fold to one or both sides
- Top-hung on a heavy track with bottom guides
- Suits openings from a single door width to several metres
Fitting in Welshpool and nearby
Surveys in Welshpool (SY21) are booked around installer availability. We also cover nearby Newtown (12 miles), Rhosllanerchrugog (24 miles) and Wrexham (27 miles).
Powys is the most rural part of Wales, with stone-built market towns such as Brecon, Newtown and Llandrindod Wells and many remote properties.
This type of grille suits:
- Restaurant and bar frontages
- Garden room and orangery openings
- Loading doors and goods-in
- Office receptions and showrooms
Questions we will ask at the survey
Infill
Add mesh or solid panels where you want to stop reach-through or hide the area behind.
Floor guide
A bottom guide keeps the leaves aligned. Recessed guides keep the floor flush.
Planning and safety in Wales
Grilles across exits in business premises
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies in Wales, including to the common parts of blocks of flats and HMOs. The responsible person must keep escape routes and exits available and easy to open while people are present, so a grille across an exit should be open whenever the premises are occupied.
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Wales, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
