French door grilles in Welshpool: what will it cost?
Most French door grilles in Welshpool fall within £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Getting the right French door grille for your building
One side or both
A centre-meeting pair lets you open one side for everyday use.
Door swing
Inward-opening doors need the grille set back far enough to clear the leaves.
What the rules say in Wales
Bedroom and escape windows
Wales has its own Approved Documents under the Building Regulations. Approved Document B for Wales sets out escape window provisions for dwellings broadly in line with England's, including minimum opening sizes. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Wales need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the local planning authority with Cadw's involvement where required. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.

French door grilles in Welshpool: questions
Do you cover Newtown as well as Welshpool?
Yes. As well as Welshpool, we can arrange surveys in nearby Newtown, Rhosllanerchrugog and Wrexham, and elsewhere in Powys.
Will the grille match my doors?
We powder-coat grilles in white, black, anthracite or a RAL colour close to your frames.
My French doors open inwards. Can I still have a grille?
Yes. The grille is set back from the doors so they can swing open, or fitted outside if there is no room inside.
How long does it take to fit?
Usually two to three hours once the grilles arrive.
