Bespoke security grilles in Bridgnorth

Bespoke security grilles in Bridgnorth: what will it cost?

Our guide range for bespoke security grilles in Bridgnorth is £474 to £3,594 including VAT (£395 to £2,995 plus VAT) per opening, including fitting. The survey is free for new installations and your fixed price follows in writing.

A bespoke security grille is designed and fabricated for one particular opening, such as an arched window, a curved bay, a very large screen or a period building where a standard grille would look wrong. It is measured on site, drawn up and made to suit.

What the rules say in England

England

External grilles and planning

External grilles and shutters on shops and other commercial buildings normally need planning permission from the local council because they change the building's appearance. Many councils' shopfront guides favour internal, open-lattice grilles, particularly in conservation areas.

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.

Bespoke security grilles in Bridgnorth: questions

Do you cover Loughton as well as Bridgnorth?

Yes. As well as Bridgnorth, we can arrange surveys in nearby Loughton, Telford and Kingswinford, and elsewhere in Shropshire.

Can a grille be designed for a listed building?

Yes. Slim sections, matched colours and minimal fixings help, but listed building consent is still needed for works that affect the building's character.

Can you copy an existing grille design?

We can make a grille in a similar style for a matching window. We do not copy other firms' registered designs.

Can bespoke grilles still be retractable?

Yes, within limits. Retractable grilles need straight tracks, so curved or arched parts are usually fixed.
