Bespoke security grilles in Dingwall

Bespoke security grilles in Dingwall: what will it cost?

Our guide range for bespoke security grilles in Dingwall is £474 to £3,594 including VAT (£395 to £2,995 plus VAT) per opening, including fitting. The survey is free for new installations and your fixed price follows in writing.

A bespoke security grille is designed and fabricated for one particular opening, such as an arched window, a curved bay, a very large screen or a period building where a standard grille would look wrong. It is measured on site, drawn up and made to suit.

What the rules say in Scotland

Scotland

External grilles and planning

External grilles and shutters on commercial buildings normally need planning permission from the council under the Scottish planning system. Councils' shopfront guidance commonly prefers internal, open-mesh security, particularly in conservation areas and town centres.

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Listed buildings in Scotland need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the council, with Historic Environment Scotland consulted on some cases. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.

Bespoke security grilles in Dingwall: questions

Do you cover Inverness as well as Dingwall?

Yes. As well as Dingwall, we can arrange surveys in nearby Inverness, Nairn and Aviemore, and elsewhere in Highland.

Can you make a grille for an arched window?

Yes. Fixed and removable grilles can follow the arch exactly, and retractable grilles can be fitted below the springing line with a fixed arched panel above.

Can you copy an existing grille design?

We can make a grille in a similar style for a matching window. We do not copy other firms' registered designs.

How long do bespoke grilles take?

Longer than standard grilles because each is drawn and fabricated individually. The lead time is confirmed with the quote.
