What makes a grille cost more?
Size is the biggest factor, but not the only one. A wide opening may need two or more leaves, which adds locks and tracks. Heavier sections, extra locking points and third-party certified products cost more than standard domestic grilles.
Finish matters too: white, black and anthracite are usually standard, while special RAL colours, galvanising for outdoor use or decorative bar work add to the price. Difficult access, weak walls that need a subframe, and out-of-hours fitting can also add cost.
Is it cheaper to fit several grilles at once?
Usually, yes. One survey and one installation visit cover every opening, and locks can be keyed alike. Many homeowners start with the back of the house and add more later, but doing it in one go generally costs less per grille.
What about repairs and servicing?
Repair visits start from £145 plus VAT (£174 inc VAT), with most repairs between £145 and £495 plus VAT (£174 to £594 inc VAT) including parts. Servicing starts from £95 plus VAT (£114 inc VAT) per grille with a minimum visit charge of £145 plus VAT (£174 inc VAT).
