Patio and bifold door grilles in Swansea: what will it cost?
Budget £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for patio and bifold door grilles in Swansea, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

Getting the right patio door grille for your building
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Colour
Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.
What the rules say in Wales
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Wales, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Bedroom and escape windows
Wales has its own Approved Documents under the Building Regulations. Approved Document B for Wales sets out escape window provisions for dwellings broadly in line with England's, including minimum opening sizes. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Swansea: questions
Do you cover Gorseinon as well as Swansea?
Yes. As well as Swansea, we can arrange surveys in nearby Gorseinon, Port Talbot and Neath, and elsewhere in West Glamorgan.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
Do patio grilles block the view?
When open, only a slim stack at each side. When closed, the lattice is open enough to see the garden clearly.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
