How much should I budget for patio and bifold door grilles in Llanelli?
Our guide range for patio and bifold door grilles in Llanelli is £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors, including fitting. The survey is free for new installations and your fixed price follows in writing.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.
What goes into a patio door grille
- White, black, anthracite or RAL
- Multi-leaf grilles for openings up to several metres
- Matched to aluminium, uPVC or timber frames
- Locks operable from inside
- Stacks positioned to clear handles and curtains
- Optional extra locking points for wide spans

South-west Wales is largely rural, with stone and rendered terraces in towns such as Llanelli, Carmarthen and Haverfordwest and many holiday properties on the coast.

What to think about first
Where it parks
Bifold doors stack their own leaves to one side; the grille stack should not fight them.
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Consents and safety: Wales
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Wales need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the local planning authority with Cadw's involvement where required. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.
Bedroom and escape windows
Wales has its own Approved Documents under the Building Regulations. Approved Document B for Wales sets out escape window provisions for dwellings broadly in line with England's, including minimum opening sizes. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Llanelli: questions
Do you cover Gorseinon as well as Llanelli?
Yes. As well as Llanelli, we can arrange surveys in nearby Gorseinon, Swansea and Ammanford, and elsewhere in Dyfed.
Can the grille be fitted outside the patio doors?
It can, but inside is usual because the grille is protected and the outside of the house stays the same.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
