How much should I budget for patio and bifold door grilles in Leven?
Our guide range for patio and bifold door grilles in Leven is £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors, including fitting. The survey is free for new installations and your fixed price follows in writing.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.
What goes into a patio door grille
- Matched to aluminium, uPVC or timber frames
- Low-profile or recessed floor tracks
- Optional extra locking points for wide spans
- Multi-leaf grilles for openings up to several metres
- Stacks positioned to clear handles and curtains
- Works with sliding, lift-and-slide and bifold doors

What to think about first
Usage
If you open the doors every day, ask for a lighter-action grille with smooth runners.
Where it parks
Bifold doors stack their own leaves to one side; the grille stack should not fight them.
Consents and safety: Scotland
Bedroom and escape windows
In Scotland, escape from homes is covered by the Building Standards technical handbooks (section 2, fire). Where a room relies on a window for escape, nothing fitted over it should stop it being used. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Scotland need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the council, with Historic Environment Scotland consulted on some cases. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Leven: questions
Do you cover Glenrothes as well as Leven?
Yes. As well as Leven, we can arrange surveys in nearby Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy and Cupar, and elsewhere in Fife.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
