What is the price of patio and bifold door grilles in Edinburgh?
Most patio and bifold door grilles in Edinburgh fall within £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

Where it parks
Bifold doors stack their own leaves to one side; the grille stack should not fight them.
Colour
Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.
Planning and safety in Scotland
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Scotland need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the council, with Historic Environment Scotland consulted on some cases. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.
Bedroom and escape windows
In Scotland, escape from homes is covered by the Building Standards technical handbooks (section 2, fire). Where a room relies on a window for escape, nothing fitted over it should stop it being used. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Edinburgh: questions
Do you cover Musselburgh as well as Edinburgh?
Yes. As well as Edinburgh, we can arrange surveys in nearby Musselburgh, Dalkeith and Penicuik, and elsewhere in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
Can the grille be fitted outside the patio doors?
It can, but inside is usual because the grille is protected and the outside of the house stays the same.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
