Home security grilles in Monmouth

Home security grilles in Monmouth: what will it cost?

Budget £414 to £954 including VAT (£345 to £795 plus VAT) per window for home security grilles in Monmouth, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.

Home security grilles are made-to-measure grilles for the windows and doors of houses and flats, usually retractable and fitted inside the glass. Folded back during the day they are barely noticeable; drawn across at night or when you are away, they stop entry through broken glass.

Locks keyed alike across the house if you prefer
Low-profile tracks for doors and patio openings

What the rules say in Wales

Wales

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Listed buildings in Wales need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the local planning authority with Cadw's involvement where required. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.

Bedroom and escape windows

Wales has its own Approved Documents under the Building Regulations. Approved Document B for Wales sets out escape window provisions for dwellings broadly in line with England's, including minimum opening sizes. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.

Home security grilles in Monmouth: questions

Which areas near Monmouth do you cover?

We can arrange work in Monmouth and in nearby Chepstow (12 miles), Abergavenny (13 miles) and Pontypool (16 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.

Do home security grilles look like prison bars?

Not when they are fitted inside the glass in a matching colour. Folded back, a grille is a slim stack at the side of the window.

Will grilles affect my home insurance?

Some insurers ask about security measures. Tell your insurer about any changes; they decide whether it affects your policy.

Are grilles safe if there is a fire?

Yes, provided any window needed for escape has a grille with a keyless internal release. We will not fit a key-only grille over an escape window.
