What is the price of French door grilles in Coventry?
Most French door grilles in Coventry fall within £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Fitting in Coventry and nearby
Coventry is about 17 miles from Birmingham, the main centre for West Midlands. We can survey and fit across the CV1 district and in nearby places such as Kenilworth and Bedworth.
The West Midlands is dominated by red-brick terraces and interwar semis, with dense high streets and a large stock of industrial and trade units.
This type of grille suits:
- Ground-floor flats
- French doors to gardens
- Dining rooms and kitchens
- Period homes with timber French doors
Questions we will ask at the survey
One side or both
A centre-meeting pair lets you open one side for everyday use.
Upper floors
A grille behind Juliet balcony doors needs to keep any required escape route usable.
Planning and safety in England
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.

French door grilles in Coventry: questions
Which areas near Coventry do you cover?
We can arrange work in Coventry and in nearby Kenilworth (5 miles), Bedworth (5 miles) and Nuneaton (8 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.
My French doors open inwards. Can I still have a grille?
Yes. The grille is set back from the doors so they can swing open, or fitted outside if there is no room inside.
Will the grille match my doors?
We powder-coat grilles in white, black, anthracite or a RAL colour close to your frames.
Can French door grilles open one side only?
Yes. Each leaf runs independently, so you can open one side and leave the other closed.
