Bespoke security grilles in Redditch

What is the price of bespoke security grilles in Redditch?

Budget £474 to £3,594 including VAT (£395 to £2,995 plus VAT) per opening for bespoke security grilles in Redditch, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.

A bespoke security grille is designed and fabricated for one particular opening, such as an arched window, a curved bay, a very large screen or a period building where a standard grille would look wrong. It is measured on site, drawn up and made to suit.

External grilles and planning

External grilles and shutters on shops and other commercial buildings normally need planning permission from the local council because they change the building's appearance. Many councils' shopfront guides favour internal, open-lattice grilles, particularly in conservation areas.

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.

Bespoke security grilles in Redditch: questions

Do you cover Bromsgrove as well as Redditch?

Yes. As well as Redditch, we can arrange surveys in nearby Bromsgrove, Shirley and Droitwich, and elsewhere in Worcestershire.

How long do bespoke grilles take?

Longer than standard grilles because each is drawn and fabricated individually. The lead time is confirmed with the quote.

Can a grille be designed for a listed building?

Yes. Slim sections, matched colours and minimal fixings help, but listed building consent is still needed for works that affect the building's character.

Can you copy an existing grille design?

We can make a grille in a similar style for a matching window. We do not copy other firms' registered designs.
