Bespoke security grilles in Tiverton

What is the price of bespoke security grilles in Tiverton?

Budget £474 to £3,594 including VAT (£395 to £2,995 plus VAT) per opening for bespoke security grilles in Tiverton, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.

A bespoke security grille is designed and fabricated for one particular opening, such as an arched window, a curved bay, a very large screen or a period building where a standard grille would look wrong. It is measured on site, drawn up and made to suit.

External grilles and planning

External grilles and shutters on shops and other commercial buildings normally need planning permission from the local council because they change the building's appearance. Many councils' shopfront guides favour internal, open-lattice grilles, particularly in conservation areas.

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.

Bespoke security grilles in Tiverton: questions

Do you cover Exeter as well as Tiverton?

Yes. As well as Tiverton, we can arrange surveys in nearby Exeter, Taunton and Exmouth, and elsewhere in Devon.

Can you make a grille for an arched window?

Yes. Fixed and removable grilles can follow the arch exactly, and retractable grilles can be fitted below the springing line with a fixed arched panel above.

How long do bespoke grilles take?

Longer than standard grilles because each is drawn and fabricated individually. The lead time is confirmed with the quote.

Can bespoke grilles still be retractable?

Yes, within limits. Retractable grilles need straight tracks, so curved or arched parts are usually fixed.
