How much do bespoke security grilles cost in Wisbech?
Most bespoke security grilles in Wisbech fall within £474 to £3,594 including VAT (£395 to £2,995 plus VAT) per opening for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
A bespoke security grille is designed and fabricated for one particular opening, such as an arched window, a curved bay, a very large screen or a period building where a standard grille would look wrong. It is measured on site, drawn up and made to suit.

Fitting in Wisbech and nearby

Cambridgeshire includes listed college-town streets in Cambridge, the Victorian terraces and newer estates of Peterborough, and fenland market towns.
Typical places for this kind of grille include:

- Oversized commercial openings
- Listed and period buildings
- Churches and community halls
Things to decide before you order
Consents
Listed buildings and conservation areas may need consent; bespoke designs are often how consent is won.
Lead time
Bespoke grilles take longer than standard ones because each is drawn and made individually.
Rules that apply in England
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.
External grilles and planning
External grilles and shutters on shops and other commercial buildings normally need planning permission from the local council because they change the building's appearance. Many councils' shopfront guides favour internal, open-lattice grilles, particularly in conservation areas.

Bespoke security grilles in Wisbech: questions
Which areas near Wisbech do you cover?
We can arrange work in Wisbech and in nearby March (8 miles), King's Lynn (12 miles) and Spalding (15 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.
Can bespoke grilles still be retractable?
Yes, within limits. Retractable grilles need straight tracks, so curved or arched parts are usually fixed.
Can you copy an existing grille design?
We can make a grille in a similar style for a matching window. We do not copy other firms' registered designs.
How long do bespoke grilles take?
Longer than standard grilles because each is drawn and fabricated individually. The lead time is confirmed with the quote.
