Shopfront security grilles in Newquay

Shopfront security grilles in Newquay: what will it cost?

Budget £1,195 to £3,495 plus VAT (£1,434 to £4,194 inc VAT) per shopfront for shopfront security grilles in Newquay, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.

A shopfront security grille is a wide retractable or roller grille fitted behind the shop window and entrance. It protects the glass line after closing while leaving the display visible, which is why many councils prefer it to a solid external shutter.

Fitting in Newquay and nearby

Newquay is about 10 miles from Truro, the main centre for Cornwall. We can survey and fit across the TR7 district and in nearby places such as Truro and St Austell.

Cornwall's stock is largely granite and slate cottages, terraces and holiday lets, with many seasonal properties left empty for part of the year.

Common openings for shopfront security grilles:

Jewellers and phone shops
Cafés, restaurants and takeaways
High-street shops and boutiques
Convenience stores and off-licences

Getting the right shopfront grille for your building

Where the stack parks

We plan stack positions around displays, pilasters and the door so the grille folds away without blocking stock.

Lattice or roller

Retractable lattice suits most shop windows. An internal roller grille needs space for the coil above the window but leaves nothing at the sides.

Insurer requirements

Insurers set their own conditions for business premises, stock and cash. If your policy names a type or rating of grille, get the wording in writing before ordering; the insurer decides whether a product meets it.

Grilles inside the glass

A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.

Shopfront security grilles in Newquay: questions

Which areas near Newquay do you cover?

We can arrange work in Newquay and in nearby Truro (10 miles), St Austell (14 miles) and Redruth (14 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.

Can the grille cover the shop door too?

Yes. The door is covered by its own leaf, by a separate gate, or by including it in the main grille run.

Can you fit the grille without closing the shop?

Usually. Fitting is noisy for short spells while tracks are drilled, so we offer early-morning or after-closing slots where the installer's schedule allows.

Can customers see into the shop with the grille closed?

Yes. An open lattice or open-mesh roller grille keeps the display visible, which helps window shopping after hours and natural surveillance of the street.
