How much do security grille repairs cost in Bath?
Most security grille repairs in Bath cost £174 to £594 including VAT (£145 to £495 plus VAT) including parts, with visits from £174 including VAT (£145 plus VAT). We confirm the visit price up front and agree any parts before starting.
Security grille repairs put a stiff, jammed, bent or broken grille back into proper working order. Typical faults are worn bottom wheels, bent or dirty tracks, broken scissor links or rivets, a grille that has dropped out of line, or a lock that no longer engages.

- Roller grille spring and motor faults
- Diagnosis of stiff, jammed and off-track grilles
- Track cleaning, realignment and replacement

Before the visit
Repair or replace
If the frame is sound, repair is usually best. Heavily corroded or badly bent grilles are often better replaced.
Prevent repeats
Many faults come from dirt in the tracks; regular servicing helps.
Rules that apply in England
Electric roller grilles
Electric grilles need a suitable supply wired to BS 7671. In homes, some electrical work is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations. Powered grilles should have working safety devices and regular maintenance.
Grilles across exits in business premises
In workplaces and other non-domestic premises, including the common parts of blocks of flats and HMOs, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 makes the responsible person keep escape routes and emergency exits available and easy to open while people are present. A grille across an exit should be unlocked and parked open whenever the building is occupied, and covered in the fire risk assessment.
How it works
- Describe the fault and send a photo
- Visit price confirmed
- Diagnosis on site
- Parts agreed, then repaired
Security grille repairs in Bath: questions
Which areas near Bath do you cover?
Yes. As well as Bath, we can arrange visits in nearby Trowbridge, Melksham and Mangotsfield, and elsewhere in Somerset.
Do you repair grilles you did not fit?
Yes. We work on most retractable, hinged and roller grilles, subject to parts.
Why is my retractable grille hard to slide?
Usually dirt or debris in the bottom track, worn wheels, or a grille that has dropped out of line. Each is normally fixable on site.
Can you repair a grille someone tried to break?
Often, yes. Bent sections can be straightened or replaced and locks renewed; if the damage is severe we will advise on replacement.
