How much should I budget for patio and bifold door grilles in Haywards Heath?
Budget £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for patio and bifold door grilles in Haywards Heath, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

What to think about first
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Usage
If you open the doors every day, ask for a lighter-action grille with smooth runners.
Consents and safety: England
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Haywards Heath: questions
Can you survey in Haywards Heath and nearby towns?
Yes. Surveys in Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Crawley and elsewhere in West Sussex are booked around installer availability.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
Do patio grilles block the view?
When open, only a slim stack at each side. When closed, the lattice is open enough to see the garden clearly.
Can the grille be fitted outside the patio doors?
It can, but inside is usual because the grille is protected and the outside of the house stays the same.
