Patio and bifold door grilles in Powys: what will it cost?
As a guide, patio and bifold door grilles in Powys cost £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors, supplied and fitted. The exact figure depends on size, type, finish and locking, and is confirmed in writing after the free survey.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

What the rules say in Wales
Bedroom and escape windows
Wales has its own Approved Documents under the Building Regulations. Approved Document B for Wales sets out escape window provisions for dwellings broadly in line with England's, including minimum opening sizes. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Wales, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Powys: questions
Which towns in Powys do you cover?
We can arrange work anywhere in Powys, including Brecon, Llandrindod Wells, Newtown and Welshpool.
Do patio grilles block the view?
When open, only a slim stack at each side. When closed, the lattice is open enough to see the garden clearly.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
