How much should I budget for patio and bifold door grilles in Scarborough?
Most patio and bifold door grilles in Scarborough fall within £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

- Stacks positioned to clear handles and curtains

Consents and safety: England
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Scarborough: questions
Do you cover Bridlington as well as Scarborough?
Yes. As well as Scarborough, we can arrange surveys in nearby Bridlington, Whitby and Driffield, and elsewhere in North Yorkshire.
Can the grille be fitted outside the patio doors?
It can, but inside is usual because the grille is protected and the outside of the house stays the same.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
