What is the price of patio and bifold door grilles in Brentwood?
Most patio and bifold door grilles in Brentwood fall within £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

Fitting in Brentwood and nearby
Brentwood is about 18 miles from Southend-on-Sea, the main centre for Essex. We can survey and fit across the CM14 district and in nearby places such as Billericay and Hornchurch.
Essex ranges from Victorian terraces in Southend and Colchester to new towns such as Harlow and Basildon and large commuter estates near London.
This type of grille suits:
- Sliding patio doors
- Garden room and extension openings
- Balcony doors in flats
- Orangeries
Questions we will ask at the survey
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Colour
Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.
Planning and safety in England
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Brentwood: questions
Do you cover Billericay as well as Brentwood?
Yes. As well as Brentwood, we can arrange surveys in nearby Billericay, Hornchurch and Romford, and elsewhere in Essex.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
Can the grille be fitted outside the patio doors?
It can, but inside is usual because the grille is protected and the outside of the house stays the same.
