Patio and bifold door grilles in Darlington

What is the price of patio and bifold door grilles in Darlington?

Budget £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for patio and bifold door grilles in Darlington, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.

A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

Multi-leaf grilles for openings up to several metres
Optional extra locking points for wide spans

Track

A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.

Colour

Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.

Listed buildings and conservation areas

Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.

Bedroom and escape windows

Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.
