How much should I budget for patio and bifold door grilles in Montrose?
Our guide range for patio and bifold door grilles in Montrose is £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors, including fitting. The survey is free for new installations and your fixed price follows in writing.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

What to think about first
Colour
Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Consents and safety: Scotland
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Scotland, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Bedroom and escape windows
In Scotland, escape from homes is covered by the Building Standards technical handbooks (section 2, fire). Where a room relies on a window for escape, nothing fitted over it should stop it being used. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Montrose: questions
Can you survey in Montrose and nearby towns?
Yes. Surveys in Montrose, Arbroath, Forfar and elsewhere in Dundee and Angus are booked around installer availability.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
Can the grille be fitted outside the patio doors?
It can, but inside is usual because the grille is protected and the outside of the house stays the same.
