How much do patio and bifold door grilles cost in Poole?
Most patio and bifold door grilles in Poole fall within £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.
What goes into a patio door grille
- Multi-leaf grilles for openings up to several metres
- Optional extra locking points for wide spans
- Locks operable from inside
- Works with sliding, lift-and-slide and bifold doors
- Low-profile or recessed floor tracks
- White, black, anthracite or RAL

Things to decide before you order
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Colour
Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.
Rules that apply in England
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Poole: questions
Do you cover Bournemouth as well as Poole?
Yes. As well as Poole, we can arrange surveys in nearby Bournemouth, Christchurch and New Milton, and elsewhere in Dorset.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
Can the grille be fitted outside the patio doors?
It can, but inside is usual because the grille is protected and the outside of the house stays the same.
Do patio grilles block the view?
When open, only a slim stack at each side. When closed, the lattice is open enough to see the garden clearly.
