How much do patio and bifold door grilles cost in Bideford?
Budget £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for patio and bifold door grilles in Bideford, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

- Locks operable from inside
- White, black, anthracite or RAL
- Low-profile or recessed floor tracks
- Stacks positioned to clear handles and curtains
- Multi-leaf grilles for openings up to several metres
- Optional extra locking points for wide spans

Things to decide before you order
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Colour
Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.
Rules that apply in England
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Bideford: questions
Do you cover Barnstaple as well as Bideford?
Yes. As well as Bideford, we can arrange surveys in nearby Barnstaple, Tiverton and Exeter, and elsewhere in Devon.
Do patio grilles block the view?
When open, only a slim stack at each side. When closed, the lattice is open enough to see the garden clearly.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
