How much do patio and bifold door grilles cost in Slough?
Budget £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors for patio and bifold door grilles in Slough, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.
What goes into a patio door grille
- Low-profile or recessed floor tracks
- Optional extra locking points for wide spans
- Multi-leaf grilles for openings up to several metres
- Stacks positioned to clear handles and curtains
- Locks operable from inside
- Works with sliding, lift-and-slide and bifold doors

Things to decide before you order
Colour
Anthracite grilles sit quietly against grey aluminium frames.
Where it parks
Bifold doors stack their own leaves to one side; the grille stack should not fight them.
Rules that apply in England
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Slough: questions
Can you survey in Slough and nearby towns?
Yes. Surveys in Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead and elsewhere in Berkshire are booked around installer availability.
Do patio grilles block the view?
When open, only a slim stack at each side. When closed, the lattice is open enough to see the garden clearly.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
