Patio and bifold door grilles in Troon: what will it cost?
As a guide, patio and bifold door grilles in Troon cost £1,074 to £2,994 including VAT (£895 to £2,495 plus VAT) per set of doors, supplied and fitted. The exact figure depends on size, type, finish and locking, and is confirmed in writing after the free survey.
A patio door grille is a wide retractable grille fitted inside sliding patio or bifold doors. Closed, it protects a large glazed opening that is often out of sight at the back of the house; open, it folds into slim stacks so the view and access are unaffected.

Getting the right patio door grille for your building
Track
A low-profile track keeps the threshold easy to walk over. Recessed tracks need a little floor work.
Usage
If you open the doors every day, ask for a lighter-action grille with smooth runners.
What the rules say in Scotland
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Scotland need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the council, with Historic Environment Scotland consulted on some cases. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.
Bedroom and escape windows
In Scotland, escape from homes is covered by the Building Standards technical handbooks (section 2, fire). Where a room relies on a window for escape, nothing fitted over it should stop it being used. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.

Patio and bifold door grilles in Troon: questions
Do you cover Irvine as well as Troon?
Yes. As well as Troon, we can arrange surveys in nearby Irvine, Ayr and Kilmarnock, and elsewhere in Ayrshire.
How long does fitting take?
A typical set of patio doors takes half a day once the grille is made.
Can I walk over the grille track?
Yes. Low-profile tracks are a few millimetres high, and recessed tracks sit flush with the floor.
Will a grille get in the way of my bifold doors?
No. We plan the stack so the bifold leaves and the grille fold to positions that do not clash.
