French door grilles in Bromsgrove

What is the price of French door grilles in Bromsgrove?

French door grilles in Bromsgrove typically cost £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors, supplied and fitted. Use the quote tool for a guide figure, then we survey and confirm a fixed price.

French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Fitting in Bromsgrove and nearby

We arrange surveys and fitting in Bromsgrove and across the B61 postcode district, as well as in nearby Redditch (5 miles) and Droitwich (6 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.

Worcestershire combines Worcester's historic centre, Victorian Malvern, and the terraces and retail centres of Redditch and Kidderminster.

This type of grille suits:

Ground-floor flats
French doors to gardens
Juliet balconies on upper floors (with escape in mind)
Period homes with timber French doors

Questions we will ask at the survey

Door swing

Inward-opening doors need the grille set back far enough to clear the leaves.

Upper floors

A grille behind Juliet balcony doors needs to keep any required escape route usable.

Planning and safety in England

England

Bedroom and escape windows

Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.

Grilles inside the glass

A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
