How much should I budget for French door grilles in Brighouse?
French door grilles in Brighouse typically cost £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors, supplied and fitted. Use the quote tool for a guide figure, then we survey and confirm a fixed price.
French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Fitting in Brighouse and nearby
Brighouse is about 12 miles from Leeds, the main centre for West Yorkshire. We can survey and fit across the HD6 district and in nearby places such as Halifax and Cleckheaton.
West Yorkshire is known for stone and brick terraces, back-to-backs in Leeds and Bradford, converted mills, and busy city and town centres.
Where French door grilles are most often used:
- Ground-floor flats
- French doors to gardens
- Period homes with timber French doors
- Juliet balconies on upper floors (with escape in mind)
What to think about first
Upper floors
A grille behind Juliet balcony doors needs to keep any required escape route usable.
Curtains and blinds
Stack positions are planned around curtain tracks and returns.
Consents and safety: England
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.
Bedroom and escape windows
Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.
