How much do French door grilles cost in Gateshead?
Budget £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors for French door grilles in Gateshead, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.
French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Rules that apply in England
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.

Can you survey in Gateshead and nearby towns?
Yes. Surveys in Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, Felling and elsewhere in Tyne and Wear are booked around installer availability.
My French doors open inwards. Can I still have a grille?
Yes. The grille is set back from the doors so they can swing open, or fitted outside if there is no room inside.
How long does it take to fit?
Usually two to three hours once the grilles arrive.
Will the grille match my doors?
We powder-coat grilles in white, black, anthracite or a RAL colour close to your frames.
