French door grilles in Yeovil

What is the price of French door grilles in Yeovil?

French door grilles in Yeovil typically cost £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors, supplied and fitted. Use the quote tool for a guide figure, then we survey and confirm a fixed price.

French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Fitting in Yeovil and nearby

Whether you are in central Yeovil or at the edge of the BA20 district, we can arrange a survey. Nearby Bridport and Dorchester are covered too.

Somerset ranges from Bath's Georgian stone terraces, almost all within a World Heritage Site, to Weston-super-Mare's seaside streets and Taunton's town centre.

This type of grille suits:

Dining rooms and kitchens
French doors to gardens
Juliet balconies on upper floors (with escape in mind)
Period homes with timber French doors

Questions we will ask at the survey

One side or both

A centre-meeting pair lets you open one side for everyday use.

Upper floors

A grille behind Juliet balcony doors needs to keep any required escape route usable.

Planning and safety in England

England

Bedroom and escape windows

Approved Document B (fire safety) expects many habitable rooms in houses, especially first-floor rooms, to have an emergency escape window with an unobstructed opening of at least 0.33 m², at least 450 mm high and 450 mm wide, with the bottom of the opening no more than 1,100 mm above the floor. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a release that opens from inside without a key.

Grilles inside the glass

A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
