How much do French door grilles cost in Spalding?
Budget £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors for French door grilles in Spalding, supplied and fitted. Size, number of leaves, colour and access all move the price, which is fixed in writing after the survey.
French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Fitting in Spalding and nearby
Spalding is about 34 miles from Lincoln, the main centre for Lincolnshire. We can survey and fit across the PE11 district and in nearby places such as Boston and Peterborough.
Lincolnshire combines the historic hilltop core of Lincoln with Grimsby and Scunthorpe's industrial terraces and many small market and coastal towns.
Typical places for this kind of grille include:
- Ground-floor flats
- Period homes with timber French doors
- Juliet balconies on upper floors (with escape in mind)
- French doors to gardens
Things to decide before you order
One side or both
A centre-meeting pair lets you open one side for everyday use.
Door swing
Inward-opening doors need the grille set back far enough to clear the leaves.
Rules that apply in England
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission, because it does not materially change how the building looks from outside. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings need listed building consent for works that affect their character, which can include internal grilles and their fixings. In conservation areas, councils look closely at anything fitted to the outside. We recommend speaking to the council's conservation officer before ordering.

French door grilles in Spalding: questions
Do you cover Boston as well as Spalding?
Yes. As well as Spalding, we can arrange surveys in nearby Boston, Peterborough and Wisbech, and elsewhere in Lincolnshire.
Can French door grilles open one side only?
Yes. Each leaf runs independently, so you can open one side and leave the other closed.
Will the grille match my doors?
We powder-coat grilles in white, black, anthracite or a RAL colour close to your frames.
My French doors open inwards. Can I still have a grille?
Yes. The grille is set back from the doors so they can swing open, or fitted outside if there is no room inside.
