How much do French door grilles cost in Glenrothes?
Most French door grilles in Glenrothes fall within £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors for supply and fitting. We confirm a fixed price in writing after a free survey, before anything is ordered.
French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.

Things to decide before you order
Door swing
Inward-opening doors need the grille set back far enough to clear the leaves.
Curtains and blinds
Stack positions are planned around curtain tracks and returns.
Rules that apply in Scotland
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Listed buildings in Scotland need listed building consent for works affecting their character, decided by the council, with Historic Environment Scotland consulted on some cases. Conservation areas bring extra scrutiny of external changes. Check with the council before ordering.
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Scotland, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.

French door grilles in Glenrothes: questions
Which areas near Glenrothes do you cover?
We can arrange work in Glenrothes and in nearby Kirkcaldy (5 miles), Leven (7 miles) and Cupar (11 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.
Do French door grilles need a floor track?
Usually a low-profile one, which keeps the grille rigid and is easy to step over.
Can French door grilles open one side only?
Yes. Each leaf runs independently, so you can open one side and leave the other closed.
My French doors open inwards. Can I still have a grille?
Yes. The grille is set back from the doors so they can swing open, or fitted outside if there is no room inside.
