What is the price of French door grilles in Lisburn?
As a guide, French door grilles in Lisburn cost £954 to £2,034 including VAT (£795 to £1,695 plus VAT) per pair of doors, supplied and fitted. The exact figure depends on size, type, finish and locking, and is confirmed in writing after the free survey.
French door grilles are usually a pair of retractable grilles that fold to each side of the doors and meet in the centre, where they lock together. They protect the glazing and the meeting stiles, which are the weak point of many French doors.
Choices you can make
- Low-profile floor track
- Pair of leaves meeting at a central lock
- Small stacks at each side of the doors
- Locks keyed alike with other grilles in the house
- Optional shoot bolts top and bottom
- Set back to clear inward-opening doors

Planning and safety in Northern Ireland
Grilles inside the glass
A grille fitted inside the glass does not normally need planning permission in Northern Ireland, as it does not materially change the outside of the building. If the building is listed, listed building consent may still be needed.
Bedroom and escape windows
Fire safety in new building work in Northern Ireland is covered by the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and Technical Booklet E. Where a room relies on a window for escape, nothing fitted over it should stop it being used. We only fit grilles over escape windows with a keyless internal release.

French door grilles in Lisburn: questions
Which areas near Lisburn do you cover?
We can arrange work in Lisburn and in nearby Belfast (8 miles), Newtownabbey (12 miles) and Lurgan (12 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.
Will the grille match my doors?
We powder-coat grilles in white, black, anthracite or a RAL colour close to your frames.
My French doors open inwards. Can I still have a grille?
Yes. The grille is set back from the doors so they can swing open, or fitted outside if there is no room inside.
Do French door grilles need a floor track?
Usually a low-profile one, which keeps the grille rigid and is easy to step over.
